The hierarchy was built upon the thoughts of humanistic philosopher Erich Fromm and psychologist Abraham Maslow. I soon realized that the hierarchy was incomplete. One cannot just be for very long. Therefore, becoming emerges as a higher purpose than being. The revised hierarchy of purpose:
